The IBU Service Department develops and supports applications that enhance the policyholder experience on geico.com. My department affects GEICO by ensuring that the policyholder's experience with GEICO via the internet is a positive one. We are always looking for ways to better the geico.com website and to allow the customer to do more via the site...to make it more convenient for the customer.
As a Lead Programmer, I manage people, projects and resources related to the enhancement and maintenance of the Policyholder Service Center of the geico.com website. I like the people and challenges that I encounter each day. I also like the technological changes that affect the industry. Working at GEICO provided me the opportunity to learn and advance my career in technology. For instance, I started working at GEICO straight out of college working as a COBOL programmer. Today, I'm working with the latest java technologies as a lead programmer analyst in the IBU Service department and supervising a team of programmers.
