Many of our new associates have no prior insurance experience. Through our industry-leading training, we help prepare them to succeed!

Our sales, customer service and claim representatives have been recognized for their knowledge of insurance policies and coverage, and the friendly service they provide. We spend weeks teaching our new associates the ins and outs of their specific business operation, so they can provide our customers with the service they've come to know and appreciate. As insurance laws and regulations change, we provide additional training to ensure that our associates have the latest information to serve our customers.

GEICO University, our companywide virtual training and development program, provides courses to help our associates develop, personally and professionally. We offer a wide range of online and classroom training opportunities, including courses on:

  • insurance licensing,
  • supervisory preparation classes,
  • management seminars,
  • Lean Six Sigma training,
  • GEICO's internal computer systems,
  • information technology including Microsoft Office basics,
  • diversity and ethics,
  • project management and presentation skills,
  • business writing,
  • basic statistics,
  • negotiation and litigation, and more!

To gain an in-depth understanding of our property and casualty business, many associates choose to participate in our Insurance Studies Program. This program is provided in conjunction with the Insurance Institute of America and the American Institute for Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters. Each year, we recognize and reward those associates who have completed the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) certification exams.
